Explorers
Explorers is our version of girl guides and boy scouts. Explorers meet together once a week at the Orange Grove Outdoor Centre and have the option of going on an annual camp. During their two hourly weekly meetings, Explorers learn all kinds of skills, like how to tie knots, work with knives, set up shelters, navigate, make fires, construct towers, catapults and pack stone walls. They go on hikes and learn about edible and non-edible plants and other aspects of nature related to bushcraft and survival skills. Most of all, it's a fun time in the outdoors doing healthy physical activities with friends.
Explorers is a course we host for local children from the age of six and up. They are split into groups according to age. Periodically during the year, Explorers have a chance to put the skills they have learned to the test and get badges in recognition of their achievements.
