Live Life Outside
Welcome to Orange Grove Adventures!
About us
We're a small group of (relatively) ordinary people who love the outdoors and think that adventure should be a normal part of our lives. We know that being exposed to nature, being active and taking on physical challenges are not only good for the soul, we believe they are essential for growing healthy, adaptable and nice human beings. Many of our camps and activities are focused on the younger generations, but we don't care how old you are, the outdoors always has something new to offer you.
We're based right in the middle of South Africa's Eastern Cape province near the tiny town of Tarkastad. Our outdoor centre is on a farm just ten minutes from the town on a magnificent 100ha karoo farm, which we have full access to. Our campsite is tucked away in a stretch of bush along a tiny stream. We accommodate our campers in dormitory style accommodation in a log cabin or in dome tents where you wake up to the sound of the birds and nearby stream. Our facilities include a boma, covered thatch dining area, fully-equipped kitchen, 4 bathrooms and showers and a large reservoir which we use to take a dip on hot days. We also have a large grassed field where we do many of our activities as well as a number of obstacles and a climbing wall. We also have access to a nearby bouldering wall.
It's be hard to pin down the activities we do in their entirety as we are constantly adapting to the needs of our guests but we do archery (we have a full 3D range), rifle shooting, climbing, abseiling, hiking, orienteering, ziplining, night challenges, bushcraft skills training, animal tracking and adventure races, to name a few.
